Delete your account

You can permanently delete your .Takes account and its data at any time. Here’s how — in the app, on the web, or by request.

Delete it yourself (fastest)

In the .Takes app or on the website, go to your Profile → Delete my account. It’s immediate and permanent — no waiting and no review. This removes your account and all the content tied to it.

Can’t get into your account?

Email us at hello@dottakes.com from the email address on your account (or tell us your display name), and ask us to delete it. We’ll verify it’s you and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your account and login credentials (email/password or the linked Google/Facebook identity)
• Your display name and profile details (birth year, gender, interests)
• Your comments and any takes you authored
• Your votes, comment upvotes, reports, and blocks

What we keep

Aggregate, de-identified vote tallies may be retained (they aren’t linked to you). Copies may persist briefly in routine backups, which age out. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

A note on anonymous voting

Voting doesn’t require an account — anonymous votes are counted with a signed device token that isn’t tied to your identity, so there’s nothing account-linked to delete for those. Deleting your account removes only the data connected to it.
